Jonathan J.L Driscoll
(59) is Founder of the Bream Real Estate Group. He holds a BA (Hons) from King’s College, London, is registered as a Corporate Finance Rep with the UK FCA and is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).
He has 38 years’ experience of direct and indirect real estate investment, development and operational management. He has lived in UK, France, Germany, the Czech Republic and Malta and has transacted in 14 European jurisdictions so far.
From 1986 – 1998, Jonathan sourced and managed prime office and retail development projects in central Paris, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Berlin. From 1994, he also developed the first logistics park in the Czech Republic, totalling 150,000 m2, on behalf of the German utility eon’s commercial property arm as their first transaction outside Germany.
From 1998, he originated and managed local operating platforms in 8 European countries whilst at Pelham Partners Ltd, backed by the Apollo Funds and producing average realised IRRs in excess of 35% on the ca 50% of transactions exited prior to end-2001. During this period, he also instigated and managed the development of e-Shelter in Frankfurt, at 109,000 m2 the largest data centre campus in Continental Europe, housing the ECB’s disaster recovery facility.
In partnership with Baupost Capital from 2002, he led the successful repositioning of well over 1 million m2 of mixed office and industrial assets across Germany, building up BEOS AG as the prime industrial asset and fund management business in Germany, at substantial IRR’s and equity multiples. He also ran transactions into German retail, Spanish office and residential and Portuguese residential programmes alongside local specialist managers.
In 2007, he started the Bream Real Estate Group, as a reaction to the paucity of hands-on management experience evidenced by many of the local operating platforms he encountered throughout Europe and to be able to pursue opportunistic investments into locally-sourced transactions alongside trusted operating partners whose company he can enjoy.

Diarmuid J. McAuliffe
(52) co-founded Bream Real Estate in Ireland in 2010 and heads up the local platform.
Diarmuid worked at a senior level within banking and financial services for over 25 years. Within international banks, he covered credit card services and retail banking including mortgage lending with a primary focus on commercial leasing and asset finance.
In 2002 he set up his own bespoke finance house, building up a portfolio of commercial clients with diverse borrowing, property investment and equipment leasing requirements and has closed transactions across Europe as well as in US and China.
In many of these transactions, Diarmuid has remained actively involved in preparing exit events on behalf of clients. His particular focus has been in the property, healthcare and renewable energy sectors. His strong banking connections in Ireland and internationally have been a key element of his success and most useful for Bream.
In 2012 Diarmuid joined forces with Jonathan Driscoll and set up the Irish wing of the Bream Real Estate Group. Through this venture they have become involved in several large property transactions acting as the local property specialists adding value to programmatic and opportunistic investment partnerships.
Bream’s affiliate the Wild Atlantic Group owns and operates 3-star hotels along the Wild Atlantic Way on the west coast of Ireland.
Diarmuid is a graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology and a Fellow of the Sales Institute of Ireland. He is an Approved Product Advisor with accreditation from University College Dublin.
